Samsung SSDs & microSD Cards in Canada

PRO is Samsung's flagship line and EVO its mainstream line. Among the NVMe drives here, the 990 PRO (PCIe 4.0) and 9100 PRO (PCIe 5.0) are the performance models, while the 990 EVO Plus is the lower-cost PCIe 4.0 option. The 870 EVO and 750 EVO are 2.5" SATA drives for systems without an M.2 slot.

The PS5's expansion slot takes an M.2 NVMe SSD on PCIe Gen4 or newer, and Sony recommends a heatsink. The Samsung 990 PRO with Heatsink is built for that slot, so it installs without extra parts.

All three are USB-C portable SSDs. The T7 and T7 Shield use USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) with reads up to 1,050 MB/s; the T7 Shield adds a rubberized, IP65 dust- and water-resistant body. The T9 moves to USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 (20Gbps) for up to 2,000 MB/s, which needs a computer with a 20Gbps USB port.

Both are Samsung microSDXC cards. PRO Plus is the faster card, aimed at 4K cameras, drones and action cams; EVO Plus is the everyday card for phones, tablets and handheld consoles. Check the largest card your device supports before choosing 512GB.
